About SILKE

Sensuel sort silketop

Silk is a luxurious experience for the body to wear. It is a relatively expensive material, but with the process it takes to get silk produced, it is not strange. If you take good care of your silk clothes, they will serve you for a long time.

CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALITIES

  • For many, silk is the perfect fabric to wear on the body because it is temperature regulating - warming when it's cool and cooling when it's hot.
  • The silk is breathable and sits gently on the body.
  • House dust mites do not like the natural substances that silk contains and therefore silk is also suitable for people who suffer from allergies. The softness and airiness of silk make it particularly suitable for people with delicate skin.
  • Silk's smooth fibers are responsible for its softness.
  • Silk can absorb moisture equivalent to 30% of its own weight without feeling wet. This is also the reason why silk also has a very short drying time.

CARE AND WASH

With proper care, silk will not shrink and curl far less.

  • According to the instructions on the garment, it is best to have silk dry cleaned.
  • However, several silk qualities can withstand machine washing at a maximum of 30 degrees and low spin revolutions (400). Feel free to use a delicate wash program or a hand wash program.
  • It is important to use soap intended for silk, which is enzyme-free, as enzymes can dissolve some of the proteins in the silk and make it delicate and fragile. It's worth following the washing instructions in the garment, so you get the longest lifespan of your silk.
  • When ironing, it is best to place a piece of fabric between the iron and the silk. Iron in the same direction as the fibers and at a maximum temperature of 120 degrees. Do not use steam and never iron the silk if it is wet.
  • Be careful not to twist and pull the silk when it is wet. The silk can be more delicate when wet. Store your silk clothes hanging on hangers – this reduces the need for ironing. The silk must be stored in a dry and dark place away from sunlight.
